Not only loud music but also loud customers, as they stagger from the club in the early hours, watering nearby gardens even if the owners would rather they didn't, broadening the vocabulary of the neighbouring ex-matelots and generally enlivening an area that would rather slumber than lumber around the dance floor until the sun rises.

MM,  at least the music had words then.
Last year I was reluctantly dragged along
to a posh club in Norway,  even in the VIP
area it was so loud I had to turn my
hearing aid off.

I know quite a few Norwegians.
There is a standing joke between us about the fact that it seems that all Norwegians have super hero style hearing abilities. For some reason that seems to be a national trait.
A couple of examples....
A 48 year old friend from there asked "what the hell that horrible noise was" as we entered a Morrisons supermarket. I stood still and listened but could not hear a thing. It turned out that it was one of those buzzing noise producers that are put up to deter youngsters from loitering around outside the store. In theory  you are not supposed to be able to hear them once you get into your 20s due to natural decline in hearing ability.
I also took a photo of another Norwegian (late teens) on her iphone from quite a distance. She said (quite correctly) that I had pushed the button too long and had actually taken three pictures. I asked how she could have possible known that without looking first and was told that she heard it "click" three times. Given that the "click" on said phone is very quiet indeed and she was at least 30 feet away I was utterly amazed.

Given all that I am surprised that the music in their clubs is not on volume setting 1 rather than the setting 11 in PS experience!

Beautiful country if a touch expensive. Summer fjord sailing is without doubt the absolute tops.

Before a mod steps in - we're way off the agreed purpose of this thread now. Wouldn't like to lose it (as has been threatened).

Regards, Ray.

It's the 21st century . . . so where's my nuclear-powered flying car, then?

Believe it or not, this was the sea just off Scroby sands yesterday morning. We took a short detour to do some seal watching on our way back from Southwold to kill a little time before our Yarmouth bridge lift.

Cheers

Unfortunately we did not ext to sea via Yarmouth on Saturday as the sea state was not suitable. Instead we exited from Lowestoft later in the day when it had calmed down a bit, and so the promised video won't appear. However, I did take a bit of video coming back in at Yarmouth so you can see what to expect, just from the reverse angle! I'll do a little bit of cutting it about and post it up shortly.

Cheers

Mark

And just to balance the view of the sea state, this is what it looked like at Gorleston Pier on Saturday morning at 8:30, and hence the reason we didn't head out that way, even in a gin palace!

Cheers
