It was a very enjoyable weekend, thank you Griff.

Plenty of money was raised for the charity & the MTB102 etc. I don't know the total yet but both  Richard & his good lady said that everyone was extremely  generous and most gave £5 for charity instead of the agreed £2.50. Im sure when Richard has had a count up the total will be known soon.

I found myself adjusting the timing & sorting out a diesel leak on Humber before it went to sea, however due to corroded gearbox oil coolers it unfortunately suffered  problems. Luckily it made a safe return!.

It was a great shame the boats didn't go to sea especially when the lock was in full operation, it was even in use on the Friday PM!. We stayed in the Wherry Hotel and I was surprised to hear a wedding going ahead until the early hours, plus the Lady of the Lake was also in full swing. When we arrived on Friday afternoon I was expecting to see OB cordoned off as a crime scene but no police could be seen!  Several of our customers used the lock on Saturday.

Very sad to hear about the tragic loss of life, and our thoughts go out to the guys family.

Hopefully next year event goes to plan, and great to hear Sentinel may be involved.

Thank you everybody!

PS - plus thank you to everyone who helped me put Sonia to bed!!! Having a alcoholic for the first time in 3 years made her sleep well!!!

Thank you Tricxy. Do you happen to know who built her?
I have a suspicion she maybe a Graham Bunn (Windboat) He did build for the war effort at the Wroxham yard.

As many of you will be aware on the day, I was atop of Secret Lady filming a lot of the actual Cruise in Company down the Waveney - unfortunately reviewing the footage, a tiny amount of condensation was inside the waterproof housing on one camera, as the heat of the sun came out this evaporated and caused the lens to completely mist over, another camera's battery lasted a dismal amount of time but the trusty 'Blog Camera' soldiered on...

So taking a break from edited the latest Captain's Blog the C in C video should be uploaded early this evening - I'm sorry there is not as much river/boat action as I had hoped but it gives a really good flavour and also shows the build up the day before from my perspective Smile

So, it is here - a Captain's Blog Special taking in the build up to the Cruise in Company from m y point of view.  Originally I was going to 'bolt this on' to the last video of the latest Blogs I have been editing, but I thought better do it sooner rather than later.

Your see how things went from being all set for a sea trip, to then becoming a river based cruise - how technology and team work can come together on the streets of Lowestoft and just what a great helmsman Mark is on Secret Lady Smile

Sorry a bunch of good footage was unusable because my camera enclosure misted up with condensation, that a battery died in my other action camera and sorry you need to watch it on a Computer and not your phone or a tablet oh and sorry if you can't stand the music - but this is not the BBC so you can't complain to Auntie lol.

It was a really enjoyable event though, with a real sense of community and good times shared.
