Thanks Mark - yes we are opposite you at Reedham. Thanks for the info Re the Bascule Bridge. Looks like Mutford Lock will be the pinch point. I think I will book a mooring at RNSYC to be on the safe side, but with a following wind and a fair tide (literally) we might get up to Mutford by 5 I guess.
Thanks again
Yours
Peter S

Hi Peter

RNSYC can be a bit reluctant to book visitor moorings, so it's usually a suck-it-and-see situation as to whether there is any space on their visitor pontoon on the day. However, don't forget there are also the two Haven marinas that will book you in. The outer one is in Hamilton Dock opposite RNSYC, and has good pontoons but a bit "industrial". The other Haven site is much nearer Oulton Broad (about 10 mins walk), and directly opposite is the Lowestoft Cruising Club who also welcome visitors.

I've marked up a Google map view of Lake Lothing so you can see where these are. The satellite view is obviously a bit out of date as it shows no pontoons in Hamilton dock, but rest assured they are there! Hope that helps Smile

Cheers

Mark

Thanks Mark - you are right - RNSYC would not allow a pre-booking so I have booked one at the Haven.

Thanks

Ok - this evening after the disappointment of Englands latest defeat (amongst many) - I cheered mysen up by sorting out the NAVPLAN

Therefore the 'Information' post 'Navigation' has been updated with tidal streams, tide times, heading bearings and the like.  Any questions or suggestions?

Only 3 x weeks to go, getting exciting and closer by the day now  Smile

Can someone step forward to be wx (Weather) God?  we need to start applying to Neptune for a favourable sea state.

Sea State 'Slight' I would offer is our maximum sea state we would wish to venture out in. (Although bordering on a northerly moderate can be done)  I've had 'B.A' out in a proper moderate - it is not fun and not worth putting crew / craft at risk imho

I asked Griff recently if any music was planned for the BBQ at the
Cin C, 'No but it would be nice', came the reply, together with a
suggestion that I give it a go to get some sorted.
It's late and as it's basically a party, we need to pay.  I have three £50
offers in, and would think£300 should be enough. If you are willing to
pledge a share and just have the money there on the night, please
PM me.

Best wishes,

Pauline

I have the means, probably. One daughter is a DJ, the
other plays what I suppose is progressive, electric
violin, she's just back from a tour of Europe. Black
Lace & Barry Manilow they are not, however they are
both well thought of by their fans. I can only ask.

Wow, Peter! I have put an offer out and will know today if One Hand Clapping can take it up, if not, you are definitely next!

Best wishes,

Pauline
