6 days till the start of our small 2 night break starting on Monday 31st. we will be picking up the boat from brinks at wroxham but after the hand over etc not leaving until about 3pm ? my plan was to go to horning and moor up at the swan for drinks and a evening meal and look around the town the first night.
but what the moorings are full ? do you have any ideas where to go please as we cant travel to far the first night!

The rivers are generally quieter at this time of year so you might be ok on one of the pubs or you could carry on to ranworth for the maltsters. Failing that moor on Ranworth island with a few tinnies

kindest regards mark summers

Doubt you'll have trouble finding a mooring in Horning this early in the season. If not the Swan or public staithe next door, the Ferry has plenty of moorings. Enjoy.

Regards, Ray.

It's the 21st century . . . so where's my nuclear-powered flying car, then?

You could phone The Swan and pre book your moorings to be on the safe side

bridgeman hi,

As others have said it's unlikely you will have a problem finding moorings this time of year.

As for picking boat up at about three,  I normally arrive about lunch time as sometimes the boat may be ready early.  I check their website to see if the boat is hired out the week beforehand.  If it is not their is more of a chance of the boat being ready early.
If not Wroxham is a nice place with plenty of shops and places to eat.

Have a great trip.

Kind Regards
Alan...

Bridgeman hi,

You shouldn't have any problem finding The Maltsters but the moorings are popular.

At The Swan there is a mooring by the green on the sharp bend as you approach Horning near the tour boat mooring.  There is a sign marking the tour boat mooring.  There is mooring outside The Swan for maybe 3 boats and just beyond a few public moorings.

There is a pub/restaurant The New Inn a little bit further along and another pub "The Ferry a little beyond.

I have attached a PDF map of the cruising area you have chosen.  If you would prefer it as a jpeg/photo let me know.

Have a great trip.

Kind Regards
Alan...
