6 1/2 feet just a moment ago.    Boats are getting through.    Really wet up here at the moment but nice day tomorrow and dry for couple of days so water will soon go back down.

Given how dry the soil is I do not think rain falling is having much effect on bridge heights - pressure remains low and next week is falling further so i would not count on the bridge getting any better!!!
Although I could be wrong!!!!! Smile

I came south through Potter today, and there was about 5ft 8in on the bridge gauge (I didn't stop to check the one in the Pilot's Office), so not many cruisers were getting through.  There was still a big 'Le Boat' vessel, probably an ex-Connoisseur Cruiser, moored between the bridges apparently waiting for the tide to be low enough to get back south of the small arch.

Yep, the same Le Boat that I saw at Horsey on 10th October, has been stuck upstream of Potter bridge ever since.

Out of interest, if a hire boat is stuck in such a way (or say at the other side of Breydon to its Yard), what happens in respect of return to the yard????

The master of the vessel at the time is entirely responsible for any such predicament, surely. Who else?

hi daz,
have seen this happen a few times ,example of the last time was , whispering reeds hire boat , could'nt get under the bridge to get back to it's hire yard , so moored outside the pilots office , the hireyard came and collected the couple with it's belongings and took them back to the hire for them to collect car and load up , hour later , hireyard came back and cleaned the boat there outside the pilots office ready for the the next hirer , which again the hireyard brought down to the pilots office ready to take over ,
in general i think most hireyards will have some sort of plan ready if anything happens ,

When Moonfleet were at Belaugh we sometimes used to see them change-over using Royall's yard if Wroxham Bridge was impassable.
