hi, just went up to my boat for the weekend, only to find that she has sunk. she's 30ft long and 10 wide, made of wood. any one know some one who could raise her? was going to spend the weekend painting her to put her up for sale, as we can no longer afford to keep her going, and my health has got to the point where, the work is too much. so if any one knows a cheap way of getting her out, whole or in bits, then please PM me or reply here. she is near the cantley sugar works. thanks people. Your insurance should pay for the lift and hopefully put right everything thats been spoiled.

That's not good, you have my sympathies. Maffett's certainly know what they're doing, but they aren't cheap. If you're planning to involve your insurance company, please be aware that cover for 'wreck removal' is just that, and it will be removed in the easiest (i.e. cheapest) way possible, with probably no consideration of it's future. I know this may not be an issue if you were planning to sell anyway, but it might still be important to you. Getting down to business, it would be useful to know a bit more about the boat: Sail or power, age, condition? Likely cause of the sinking? How long has she been sunk? How deep down is she? Inboard, outboard, or engineless? How much (if any) fuel or other pollutants are on board? I'm perfectly happy to head over and take a look, and if she's within my capabilities, I'd be willing to attempt salvage ASAP. If you'd like me to take a look, PM me your contact details and I'll head over as soon as it's light tomorrow.

Terrible news for any owner. But even worse when you'd decided to sell, all your plans thrown into complete limbo. You have my deepest sympathy.
Regards, Ray. If it's neither here, nor there, then where is it?

hi all. she is a wooden 30ft by 10ft mid cockpit cruiser, called Caravelle 3. she is sunk opposite the beauchamp arms in around 6-8ft of water. there is only about 4 gallons of fuel aboard and no water in the tanks? at least there wasn't last weekend. I can only think that she has sprung a plank banging against the side, during the big winds Wednesday, as she was that water tight, we never had more than two inches in the bilge dead centre. due to the fact that she never took in water after I recaulked and planked the hull, we only have 3rd party insurance, which obviously doesn't cover us at all. stupid I know, but we were going to sell her for something smaller and plastic. now, I don't know what to do. she was my bolt hole when the 'depression' got too much. now just feeling sick and worried. thanks for the sympathy, much appreciated. les n ade
