It may well be more than that - its just those are the ones I knew about.

If people let me know then I can ammend the list. Or Griff can have a list too!

This delegating lark is catching now   Smile

Simon / Griff.

I havn't asked the boss yet but we should be up for the DTS, bridge height should not be a problem with the stick folded  Smile

Could squeeze a couple more on if required.

Oh yes?  wot's with Griff is organising the DTS thing then?  News to me that one!

It should organise itself, all we need is a departure time from Beccles to cruise to Geldestone Locks Inn. Then after a suitable watering time a cruise back to Beccles.

There is room onboard 'B.A' for any forumite that wants to join us and doesn't want to or can't get their boat under the old road bridge.

Doug - as you may be aware the stretch of river from Beccles to Geldestone has some large overhanging trees and you might struggle with your impressive stick thing (Similar to the Wroxham to Coltishall section).  That's not to say it is do-able though, it's been a while since I've done that section so not sure from memory how easy/hard it will be for you.  If you decide against taking your PF, you are welcome onboard 'B.A'

If the mast has to come down for Beccles bridges, keep it down? Don't think there will be much sailing but I don't think the trees are an issue?

Anyway before I forget have a great C in C, I will be on the boat late Friday evening but rushing off to Barton Regatta. If anyone is passing Barton on your way home and see Water Rail moored up, you are all welcome to come alongside. If White boats are racing chances are I wont be on board.........just don't moor up the side you reckon the white boat will want to come in on!
Liz
ps please take up the offer if you see me moored up!

SG12 most the time but sometimes in NR12!

Griff,
we can motor with the stick down but then then gives us a problem mooring and turning round as I have 10ft sticking out the back, never been up that stretch so might have to bow to superior knowledge.   Evil Grin

It's been all of 24hrs since I last did it and have to say that the weed caused me a lot of problems. The water was as low as it goes but I was going against a little tide. I could feel the weed building up underneath and round the keel cooler. It took a few bursts astern every so often to clear it. You should have seen the chopped salad that came out the back!

It terms of having a stick, it's not something I can relate to. There are lots of trees which virtually join overhead in places but it opens right out just after the split with the section which goes up to geldeston village.

The water is very clear in places at the mo, especially the further away from Beccles you get so keep an eye out for the fish. It's a very pretty area, very green and quiet. I would recommend but I'd rather keep it to myself.  Wink

Clive, I've booked a mooring for the Saturday, suggest you do the same OR leave Dungraftin where she is and hop on another boat that's making the trip
