Hi Bonny Lad !!

Leave my quaint hobby alone!!

Note there was no rant this week despite being singled out as an agitator on the evening!!

Wot me!!

Ah well here goes:-

“Buckeye” A form of Horse Chestnut!! Pah that may be so but also:-

See I told you so, and being a sad trainspotter I didn’t even need Google to correctly identify this but yet again was awarded nil points. So I demand the award of a retrospective point at once and an immediate apology to Norman!!

Paul

The knuckle coupler or Janney coupler was invented by Eli H. Janney, who received a patent in 1873 (U.S. Patent 138,405).[6] It is also known as a "buckeye coupler", notably in the United Kingdom, where some rolling stock (mostly for passenger trains) is fitted with it. Janney was a dry goods clerk and former Confederate Army officer from Alexandria, Virginia, who used his lunch hours to whittle from wood an alternative to the link and pin coupler. The term Buckeye comes from the nickname of the US state of Ohio, the "Buckeye state" and the Ohio Brass Company which originally marketed the coupling.[7]

Cheers

Hi, all,

You'll have to make do without me tomorrow, I'm afloat! I'm sure you'll manage, somehow.

Aiming for Acle, possibly Stokesby, but could be Ludham Bridge or Thurne Dyke. Anyone else about?

For those confined to base by w**k, sorry!

Regards, Ray.

If it's neither here, nor there, then where is it?

And I could swear there was a question about ham n pease pudding stotties.

Seriously though, I can't be with you on Friday because we are going out for our works Xmas bash. It is either very late or extremely early - don't know which.

PTG I'll give you a point if I'm ever QM again, just for the fun of it.

Hasta la vista.

Cheers

Steve

Tonight's quiz was won by Arthur99 who will take the reins next week.
Second was Marjul, and joint third were Midiman and Vetchugger.

Thanks to all for joining in - I won't be here next week as I'm watching the football on the TV!

See you all in a fortnight.
