Final one
You could hear them coming and then if you were say moored at Brundall Dyke or Rockland Dyke or Hardley Dyke or Langley Dyke, all the water would start to suck out past your boat as they approached - the need for springers was essential. Brilliant  - I would run to the main river to see the coaster go past.

Sure I can remember seeing 3 in one day and that they would also go past during the night?

was that our lord paul i could see on one of those ships , Scared  " when i was in the navy  boat-power " lol , like the pictures of the ships , shame it does'nt happen today   Frown

the day i took that one a coaster unloading in norwich was changing sides of the river,the crew were signalling to a hirecraft to stop but they kept going , result a big collision , said cruiser nearly got squashed on the dockside wall.,
