hi there,
roughly 2 weeks ago , we wanted to go the other side of bridge , as we wanted to go to horsey mere , and the beech to see the seals , my father did he's research the day before and rang the bridge pilot for the latest , he was told no for that week as it was close , so a day launch was booked with the pilot ,and the next day we took 1 of there electric day launches and visted horsey mere ,

how much do the pilot's alow to let a hire boat through, so if you were 6ft 9" and the guage was over 7 would the pilot take you through?????

The height hasn't been 'over seven feet' for a long time. It was nudging seven feet on Monday Low Tide and has risen today.
How much clearance do pilot's need? We used to measure the boats at half inch intervals. That may give you some idea. Realistically an inch clearance is fine.
