Signed up and looking forward to the event as per the norm.

I'll bring a gazeebo, portable petrol generator, floodlight and of course the Tug-of-War rope

Sorry folks but no spare berths this year as we will (Or should be) fully crewed up. Macie dog will be in attendance as per the norm.

I'll be after volunteers to make up a team for the Tug-of-War event - 'Griffs Growlers'

Hi Griff, I was telling my mate Greg (little devil) about last years tug of war and as he will be going to the meet this year he said he would gladly join a tug team. He's a strong stocky Scottish lad as well.

all the best

As we've never attended before and don't know the drill, and what's more, we must hand over Moonlight Shadow on Saturday (fully cleaned for the next syndicate member), I've recorded "TBA" for donations.  I'd be grateful if anyone would let me know what kind of donations will be welcome, either on this thread or by personal message.

Is it a "provide and cook your own dish" bbq?  Or do we donate meats and accompanying dishes then "buy them back cooked" for forum funds?  Would a cash donation be an acceptable alternative?  Would my sloe gin be welcome?  Does a bear defecate in the woods?

Kind regards,

Lisa (bunged up, sore throat, gravelly voice, headache, would rather have this cold on the Broads than here at home)

Signed up, and really looking forward to seeing everyone again.  Cheers

Lisa, you can donate raffle / tombola prizes / booze /food, when you sign up you will see there are sections where you can put in items you are bringing, if you're not sure exactly what it will beyet leave blank or put TBA.

Tombola / raffle / auction prizes can be anything from cheap and cheerful to some of the exceedingley generous donations of services at boatyards etc. mealls at pubs, short breaks that we have been given in the past.  There are no set rules or requirements, if it helps to raise funds its welcome  Smile

We are lucky enough to have some excellent people in charge of the BBQ who cook everything and usually buy the food. Most people donate what they would have spent if they did a BBQ themselves.  Usually there are buckets going round for donations or you can give the money to one of the organisers.

The Sloe Gin would certainly be very very welcome !! Cheers

The main thing is have fun, join in, meet new friends and put faces to old friends that you have chatted with on line, and donate what you can afford, whether it be goods or money, large or small.

Look forward to meeting you.

Sharon & Tony

Hi Steve, as Lisa has asked a couple of questions already
can i add one or two.
1 we can donate money for food?

2 we can donate alcohol but this will not be charged for
i am thinking of licensing laws,

Sorry for the questions but this too will be our first
time at the meet and are not too sure of what is required
