Lol Paul! The term in my original home country is "old broiler" and I'll exchange youth any day for the wisdom I've gained through years! (Though I must admit I wish I was as strong as I used to be, sorting out the garden tools outbuilding today has left me aching!) Roll on the C-inC and our first Meet!

Dolly in my youth the broiler was a chicken too tough to roast. Old Boiler was a term of endearment (not) which was the culimination of bagger, double bagger (in case hers falls off), Boiler, Podgy Boiler and Dodgy Podgy Boiler. The latter being the one at the end of the evening who was very probably not slow dancing on the dance floor but cuddling her pint of snake bite or Guiness and black..

Exactly Martin/fidear45! That's me, lol. Though I have never had a pint of anything in my life to the best of my recollection. As I age further, I shall be the one wearing a purple woolly hat, realtree shooting jacket ten sizes too big, tweed skirt and walking boots. Hmm, now I come to think of it, I'm not far off that now sometimes!  Just you wait till you meet me!

I will not be there on Friday, 'cause I'll be afloat!! My best score so far is only 2, so I wouldn't be troubling you anyway.
Eat your hearts out, landlubbers. But due to a bad fall, my companion Rene can't manage a 2 week holiday as planned at the moment, so just a weekend this time. I'm still hopeful of making the C-in-C and meet, but things are hanging in the balance. We'll have to see how we get on this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Typical,
"York to Scarborough Railway" my speciality and a subject i appeared on Mastermind for in 1988 (well not quite).Unfortunately i will miss the quiz on Friday because i am driving down to Beccles from Beverley after work and won,t arrive until late.
Never mind i will wipe the floor with the lot of you one of these days!!
