Don/Clive, other than common courtesy there is positively no reason why we should let the Rangers know, best let sleeping dogs lie.

However I can think of no reasonable reason why we shouldn't advise relevant clubs of our activities but we shouldn't expect any favours whilst they are actually racing. However, in both parties interests we might be able to negotiate a race free half hour whilst passing through their territory, but it would mean good time keeping.

Jenny Morgan,
A vane, a boat, but not a bird.
The Broads is NOT a National Park.

Clive - Notifying official bodies i.e the Ba and the like is the remit of the NBF liason officer who has been nominated and seconded and is now a singular quango as Gramarg quite rightly suggested.

Any ideas of this scope need to be brought to the notice of G.C so he can first run them past Richard and then take the appropriate action. So these suggestions can be aired in open forum or via pm to GC.

Sharon&Tony - the 'Technical' term you refer to is 'Dress Ship' and other than the Royal Yacht is traditionaly done whilst alongside or at anchor, all those rags flapping around whilst underway is not seamanlike, having said that who says we need to stand on protocol? we onboard 'B.A' have dressing lines and will fly them for the event, whether whilst underway or on arrival at Salhouse I've no idea as of yet.  If we deploy them from our start destination the Reedcutter, then I'll have to take them down again to get under the bridges at Gya, so on a personal basis if they are to be flown whilst underway I'll probably put them up after Gya whilst transiting up the Lower Bure.

A point from me, with regards to the phtographer for the event and the rafting in ranks/mudweighting at Salhouse, I'm assuming that Ncsl will be doing this and as I've been reminded via pm that no one has asked him, I was/am taking it/him for granted which is somewhat remiss of me.  Anyway it's his own fault for being so blasted good at it!!

So to recap, where publicity and the like is concerned with other bodies and organisations, please by all means discuss them here on open forum or via pm as the mood takes you but I ask that they be run past Richard via GC for the go ahead, otherwise we could end up embaressing ourselves and have numerous requests / notifications to the same bodies which will make us lot seem somewhat disorganised, well I'm sure you know what I mean.

Thanks,

Griff

Elisamoose  Would love to cruise in company but Wroxham to Salhouse hardly counts!

Which is why I thought that the Upper Bure crowd could arrange to meet / loose mudweight in Malthouse Broad and await the arrival of the fleet and tag on there as the convoy does a circuit of Malthouse Broad and then onwards to Salhouse

To those of you contemplating only a short cruise, why not start at one of the extremities?
