I have a vision of Griff, standing on top of BA with megaphone in hand arranging who goes where. An admiral directing his fleet!

Perhaps we should provide him with a suitable 18th century hat and eye patch.

If everyone actually listens to him will be the telling factor imagine the racket of 37 boats all jostling for position to avoid collision??

Perhaps a musical chairs type of approach would be good, or native american indians circling the settlers wagons!!!then on command "wait for it one at a time" annnnnd moor to last boat, 2 3..

If someone could provide suitably loud music that could be quite a spectacle.

Life is too short

Sniggering at the screen trying to eat my dinner, ref the measurements has anyone worked out how long it's going to take the first boat to the last past one point, at the moment 37 boats at say at 10/12 metres long = 440 metres a gap of 20metres between each = 740 metres so over 1100metres (1.1Km) interesting.
i also have a picture of Griff with the megaphone looking at the mayhame and saying *** it everyman for himself. Wonder if he put in the inexperienced crew factor.

I reckon as the last boat passes Horning Sailing Club the first boats will be rafting up on Salhouse! The "snake" wont be that long for the whole journey as a number of boats will be joing at Malthouse Broad. Can we fit through Horning 2 abreast?

I think PMR Radios are the name of the game. I have a spare one for hire........

Somewhere on here somebody mentioned that if we were to offer our personal plans for the day it may help with mooring bookings etc. So here goes...

It is my intention to cruise from Oulton Broad. At Salhouse I'd like to be in the "raft" having never done it before but am happy to stand aside if the broad aint wide enough and someone else wants the space.

Am intending to stay at Salhouse overnight and am happy to mudweight rather than take up a mooring alongside if someone else needs it although I would really like to do the old nose up the beach if it is still allowed these days?

We will have a dinghy with us to get ashore etc (and an enterprise or windsurfer no doubt as the kids rarely go without something to play with - yes me included!)

We wont be attending the pub as we have a disabled crew member who finds it too far from the boat so we will stay aboard so to speak and do a spot of weaving in and out of all thosse nice floating obstacles you are all bringing for us to row around....

Saturday we will head towards the meet.

Hope this helps?

S'pose I ought to go and stick a few more planks in....

On a serious point how do we raft in a straight line? Do we need to
ensure our sterns are level? Or what!?

My understanding and I am sure Griff will correct me if I am wrong is that we will raft alongside Albion for a photo opportunity, then Albion will move to the staithe for visitors.

This would currently mean 18 boats one side and 19 boats the other. From what I understand, there should be plenty of room for everyone.

Nose onto the beach is what I intended by 1960's inspired creative mooring.

I would love to be part of this event ,but I think I am being very
stupid as I cannot work out how and where to put my name and the
name of my boat.
