Just imagine the chaos if the Cruise in Company had been organised for the same day as the start of the 3 rivers race.

Horning would be a complete shambles.

Thought we were going to be the back door of this ere convoy.  Guess we shall even be jostling for position at the back as well.

Should be fun for any poor soul trying to come upstream though Ludham bridge when we all come down the river.

This will be the first time I have been able to get to the annual meet as the date normally seems to coincide with another regular commitment.

I have met one or two members during my vists to the Broads but look forward to meeting many more in June.

All the best

Arthur

IF all goes to plan (fingers crossed, don't know who is ore nervous about this)we will Start from Richardson's pick up others at Stalham - Barton Turf- Barton Broad - How Hill - Ludham ?? Then to St benets Abbey moor facing Horning (three Abreast, i'd love to try Stern on but thinks things would be against that)then pick up the rest of the cruise and tack on the back.
Things may change and i will take on advice for those who might know of a better idea.

130 - 8 hours to go

Sounds good to me Gra apart from the stern mooring at the Abbey, usually quite windy round there which could make it tricky and I don't think it's wide enough to be honest, but the tagging on at the back away from all the trouble sounds like a plan lol  Playful

Dear "Rear" Admiral Graham,

If there are all the Ant boats (9 or so) tacking on at the back. Won't it be rather crowded as we all jostle for position to hold up/bring up the rear? Perhaps we should employ huge amounts of "horn" and vigorous arm waving (holding a suitable beverage)to persuade the leaders at the front to "get a move on" I am still anticipating un-mooring from three abreast whilst 25 boats stream past in close order(line astern).

Hello all,

From what I'm reading, it seems the Northern contingent will be tacking on to the back of the Southerners. May I please mention to everyone that we (Moonlight Shadow) must hand over our boat the next day and thus must be on the "outside" of the raft please?  (Having arranged a remote handover, we wouldn't want to upset the next owners who, to the best of my knowledge, aren't members.)

And Martin/fidear, have you read the thread "Sight Meat 2011"?  I laughed till I cried (and worse). You simply have to read it!

Looking forward to the new experience of tacking without a rag and stick.

Maybe I misread the earlier parts of this thread but I got the impression that the rafting up at Salhouse was for the purpose of a photoshoot with Albion as the centrepiece. And then boats staying overnight would either move to the land moorings or mudweight on the broad.

We will not be staying overnight at Salhouse either.

Should be an interesting day on the river.

All the best

Arthur

Hi Lisa

Read it and immediately decided to try lighting a fart. Only joking... Honest... Would I lie???
Fiona is in Iceland with the kids for half term, just me the dogs and that hilariously funny sightmeat..
With regard to your rafting experience in salhouse, don't forget we will be moored with Albion for a while and then she will go alongside the staithe in the broad and then has to leave at six or so (could be wrong here). In which case I am sure there will be plenty of manouvering about at different points throughout the day and evening. We havn't decided if we are mudweighting overnight or going to the staithe yet. Maybe a bit of both a then off to the pub.. who knows.
