Just catching up with this thread (muttleying quietly)...

I have gallons of sloe/damson/bullace gin to decant into bottles (and one bottle of blackberry vodka).  Oh and a litre of sloe sherry (shlerry).  All this must be done in late March, so I'm ok so far.

Have you cider drinkers been to the Apple Shop at Wroxham Barns?  Some very nice Norfolk Cider there, bone dry.

142 days till June.  Seems so far off.  We could have been on Moonlight Shadow this week, but no leave left for me and rather too cold for SternMoor.  Sigh.  Available to be on MS in late March but might be a problem as I'll be on crutches.  (But I may have "staff" and I need to get some photographs for my kind friend who is going to illustrate the book, so keeping fingers crossed.)

(I had to buy a removable pole for our Forum Flag as MS is a syndicate boat - got it from BillMaxted.)

Cheers all,

Lisa

Dear Lisa

Bring it all and let's see what happens. I would imagine that the fall out from so much natural produce would be quite spectacular. BUT as long as we are wearing our life jackets and our new friends are looking out for us, then what can possibly go wrong.

he he he

ooops oh dear!!!

Oh dear, my head is hurting, need to source different ciders, my Finnish colleagues are set to send a bottle of black currant Vodka. (sees picture of himself saying cheers and disappearing over the back of the boat like a qualified diver)

Last time that happened to me was in Boulters Lock (Thames)circa 1989.
I was pushed backwards over the side with drink in hand and glasses on face whilst slightly inebriated (errmm honest occifer). The perpetrator of said foul deed was a rather attractive nurse from New Zealand.

I call it my health service phase Mrs Fidear calls it my tart phase..
Due to the volume of swallowed water I spent the next three days in bed / in the loo with the most vicious stomach / gut infection you can imagine.

I didn't remember swallowing any but you never do in these circumstances.

Ahhh those were the days....

Blackcurrant vodka, that sounds like a plan for next season...

Gentlemen and ladies, a serious request for information.  The day after the Cruise in Company we must hand over Moonlight Shadow the syndicate boat.  The next owner on board has graciously agreed to a remote changeover.  (Thank you sir, you're a gent.) The question is, where would you suggest we hand over?  We need a bookable (temporary, daytime) mooring which has easy car access, a place for rubbish disposal, and perhaps fuel and water (probably not essential, we can give the next owner money) not too far from the C-in-C location.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Lisa

How about overnight at Salhouse on the Friday then Sat morning head to Horning, fuel and Water at Boulters and then onto Ranworth Staithe. I know the staithe can be busy but surely there will be a forum member on the staithe that could move out to let you in.

Or ask Andrew if Barnes could oblige? Fueling it and pump out might swing it and mention that we will do the same?
