Our three household defence brigade members will be in kennels for the cruise in company and the NBF meet.
They will however make an appearance later in the year for those of a soppy nature who wish to gush over a dog that looks like a teddy bear with a big black nose. (the Scooby Airedale)
He loves humans of all sizes and shapes and has no prejudice at all to whom he gives his licks/ affection. In fact he is something of a tart....He has never left anything behind him on his walks (ever) and he never will.
Our first Airedale taught all three of our children to walk, and no I am not joking he really did. If you can imagine small hands and a big beard .. HHHmm there were moments when he could have been annoyed. He never growled barked or anything he wasn't asked to do.
He did once see off an intruder in our house when Mrs fidear was alone but that was only a growl required and he (the intruder)fled.
We and the children are looking forward to meeting all of the forum members irrespective of the number of feet they possess.
I am particularly looking forward to meeting a former hearing dog (Miss Leigh) as my mother in law was a socialiser for the hearing dogs for the deaf. I am also looking forward to trying out our own hand signals with Macie dog!!Does she know the one for bring dad another beer???

See you soon folks......

Bring Dad another beer

Unfortunatley (For me) Macie dog likes the stuff herself, it would be severly consumed before it got anywhere near me  Frown

Changing the subject from dogs to getting ashore, I shall be bringing the 'duckling' tender so anyone can use her to row ashore (no outboard yet although did have one in the 70s but sold it!!!). Plus one enthusiatic (I hope) crew - daughter no 1 has volunteered to accompany me for the Friday and Saturday.

There is a story that daughter no 3 had to guide me down Horning Village Street once but I promise to behave

Scooby (Airedale)prefers sparkling white wine or a nicely chilled Chardonay. He used to be an exclusively red wine dog but his tastes have expanded as he got older.
He wont touch beer or gin and tonic or any of the normal doggy drinks, he sticks with his wine.
We have though, drawn the line at him knocking the glass over just to lick up the spillage.

Cheeky thing he is.

Mind you fizzy wine in the beard is preferable to almost anything else you can imagine.....

Thank you Liz, Griff, Martin and others for information about tenders, gratefully received.

Miss Leigh would have you know she is teetotal, unlike her slaves. Though "fish milk" (skimmed milk in which fish has been poached) is a welcome treat, as are all things fishy.

Right  Blush   I stupidly mentioned to ones daughter that someone on here had purchased a pink lifejacket.

Mistake 1 - I can't find the post or who said it
Mistake 2 - Telling her as she now wants one  Scared

So whoever it was, can you please furnish me with the details please?  Blush
