Griff,
PL9 planned to be in the Thurne start but as I will have to rely on 5 small horses I might need a head start and you can catch me up somewhere past Horning  Playful

Oh yes I finally did it. Forum flag is winging its way to Belgium as I type this.

So everyone on the cruise will recognise the tiny flag on the big white woodie..

Mrs Fidear refuses (so far) to let me buy a lancashire flag (she hails from the enemy camp) still working on it.

Life is too short

I'll update the list shortly.

Clair - I'll stick you in the Bure flotilla (It can always be changed later on if you wish)

Timings will be published nearer the time once we know for sure what the eta is of the Waveney/Yare crowd at Thurne Mouth, They will then pick up the Bure and Ant flotillas both at St Benets and Malthouse Broad.

M&F - About time you got your forum flag ordered, hopedully others partaking in the C-in-C will be doing the same.

Now then a flag for the stern of Malanka.

May I humbly suggest that seeing as your Boss hails from Gods Country (Yorkshire) and Malanka is indeed a grand Lady that deserves much respect and admiration (Quite rightly so imho) that you are outvoted 2 - 1.

A Yorkshire Rose on the stern end would sit very nicely and match the one onboard 'B.A' for the times when we are cruising in company. I know a good contact/supplier for a Yorkshire Rose flag.

Please make sure Mrs Fidear sees this post  Evil Grin

Broadland Sun will be flagged Forum and Yorkshire Rose, flag already got forum flag purchase this month.
Now what about communications looking at the size od the fleet it could be strtched over  a couple of miles more if more join as antticipated. i have sounded out my company for some communications (radios) PMR446 will be the option i know some of you have VHF maritime and the the licence to go with them. My thoughts are for the radios to be ditributed among the flotilla Commodores? Range is a bit sketchy poss 5-6 miles so what does anyone think?.

Salhouse by 15.00?
Is this time going to be achievable for the Southerners?
Slack water Yarmouth 11.20.
To come accross Breydon with the tide, would need to hit Yarmouth by 11.00.
Wait Yarmouth for tide to change 12.00.
Yarmouth to Salhouse 4.5 to 5 hrs = 17.00
Back to Malthouse 1 hr = 18.00?

Don't forget rag and sticks have to have an afternoon siesta boat-sail

Can i make a suggestion.

FRIDAY 24th.
If the Northern Flottila's could meet up with The Southerners at say Acle or Thurne Mouth then everybody could join together to arrive at approx 16.00. at Malthouse Broad.

SATURDAY 25th
Flottila could leave Malthouse at 09.00 at sail through Horning to Malthouse, turn around and back to Malthouse by 10.30.
Photo's etc.
Then those going to the meet could sort themselves out, and other can then go their own way.
This would also allow other members to join on the Saturday morning making numbers up.

Hope that I have not stirred the sh.. but my mind is working overtime.

Soon be Summer.

Malcolm

Earlier JM said"Previous suggestions indicate a
comfortable passage through YH at about 1300 with
arrival about 1600 being most likely."
To me this sounds about right. Any earlier and you
would still be against the tide on the Bure as it
still runs out after the tide has turned on Breydon.
After 1300hrs, you would make "progress" as us bikers
say!  Playful Wink  The journey upstream would be easier and
probably faster as there will be more tide with you.
If its a Friday meet at Acle say, then many wouldn't
make it due to work commitments.
Just my thoughts.

The days are drawing out so summers on the way
