Ok enough already!!!!

Yes the special guest is indeed 'Albion'  Cheers

I came up with idea a while ago, passed the idea through to G.C (Who will have got the go-ahead from Richard) then of course got in touch with Marshman.

Albion will be at Salhouse Broad on her mudweight for our arrival.  The NBF flotilla will then raft up either side of her for the photo shoot. Albion will be dressed overall with the coloured bunting lines as will those of us that wish to.  I hope to run up the Standard NBF forum flag on Albion for the photo shoot as well.

Without saying too much subject to confirmation there will be other organisations attending so this will be a huge coup for the NBF with much publicity, and Albion flying the NBF standard whilst at mudweight with the rest of us.

Now there are some restrictions where visitors onboard Albion are concerned.  When Albion is alongside visitors are easily accommodated when she is on a mudweight however it is more of a high risk and if there any accidents then the trust that runs here will be in serious trouble.  So if you intend to go onboard Albion you MUST have your own buoyancy aid on at ALL times and there is a maxium of twelve persons onboard at any time. Then there is the issue of forumites having to cross each others boats to reach Albion of course.

I would therefore assume it would be better to visit onboard Albion when she is alongside the staithe at Salhouse after the photo shoot.

That leads onto the issue that Albion has to depart Salhouse no later than 1830-ish back to Ludham. (Marshman has now confirmed this)

J.M - you need now to organise the southern flotilla and get your fingers out so we can all meet up en-route and arrive at Salhouse no later than say 1600 - Can you do it?

Now for my next task, I rather like the idea of a fly-past, anyone know a pilot form the memorial flight? or the Vulcan flight?  Cool Indifference

All sounds good Griff, a flypast from the Vulcan would be the icing on the cake.

P.S this thread comfirms how much an icon Albion is on the broads with most people guessing right, and rightfully so, she deserves it.

Griff, no problems from this end. Up North there might be, getting Yogi afloat!

1500 hrs doesn't allow much room for error though, a spot of research needed. Will work on that over the Xmas break.

Re a flypast, hugely expensive, unless something just happens to be near and handy and up there. If you are serious though 'Old Frank' on Speakers Corner has a friend with an airworthy Spit, I could ask.

Just a thought, I wonder if White Moth
http://www.norfolksailingholidays.co.uk/
is free that weekend? Be a good boat to hire for a large group of overgrown lads!

In the new year I shall open a thread dedicated to the Southern Flotilla.

Good to see that a sailing boat is taking pride of place Playful Wink

Theres a few spare Harrier jumpjets knocking about this week - wouldn't need a flypass it would just drop in.

What a waste they stopped using them.

Hi Griff
Unfortunately we are about 2 years to late.  Up until 2008 my dad's cousin was second in command of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

However, keep a close eye on their website as they will soon publish next years's program and if in the area they will quite often do a quick detour.

We had a fly past (with wing waggling) at my school a couple of years ago as they were at the Clacton airshow anyway and knew that I had a staff training day in school.  (It earnt me major brownie points with the boss who is a bit of a plane nut!)

Re Timings, it will most prbably covered in the New year, Is there any chance of the few members who are hiring can get their boats early i am thinking of us and at least two other crews leaving Stalham, if this going to be a
big media event and looking at the comments so far i do not doubt it is there anything can be done letters, press release etc, just to give them a nudge.

Brilliant work
Will we be giving a donation to the Wherry Trust - I assume a big bucket needs to be handed across the boats?
