The onboard temperature will depend on the type of boat and whether you have any form of heating. Miss Lisa has both Ebber hot air and gas catalytic heaters in the cabins but nothing in the centre cockpit which because of the thermal losses (and drafts in the old hood) can get a bit nippy. That said we always take warmer clothing in the winter months and there is no problem. I guess a smaller ‘single area’ type of boat could be warmer in the winter because of the interior design provided there is a heating system.
The Broads look completly different in the winter months and are well worth a visit.
We hired Fair Regent for a long weekend last February. The boat had the facility of shore power and the heating system was excellent. It was cold when turning in at night as there was a severe frost, however you just wrap youselves up. It was certaily an experience and great fun
Hello debzone, we have hired a 2 berth boat in October last year and have booked to do it again this year, yes it was cold, windy & raining but great fun and as Mariner said just wrap up, it can be ever so romantic lol
