On the broads next weekend for a week, went many years ago but have found there to be one or two changes. We are on a hire cruiser from richardsons and starting from Acle and intend staying on the northern part.Got a few hopefully easy questions that we cant find solid answers for ! Any help ?
1)Is there a list for various locations for overnight and daytime mooring fee charges.
2)is it compulsary on a hire cruiser to use the bridge pilot for wroxham bridge.
3)Potter Heigham Charge- do we pay the full £20 charge and then get back half at the end of the break or do the pilots charge us half and bill the boat yard for the other half.
4)how do you know that the person asking for the mooring fees at any location is not somebody on a scam,i.e.do they give receipts or have identity.
5)lastly,what time would you recommend that you get to your nights mooring,(maximum cruising time but with a better chance of mooring).we are pet free so using the mud weight will not be a problem but is there anywhere that charges for open water mooring ?

    hopefully

             Chris

hi there ,
welcome to the forum , i'll try to answer of your questions ,
mooring fee's , depends on where you want to moor ,
womack water stahtie £3.00 per nite ,
ranworth island £6.00 per nite
salhouse broad £6.00 per nite ,
some pubs do charge mooring fee's , but there are free  B.A 24 hr moorings around , or you can moor at any hire boat yard for free to,also places like womack water / salhouse the money collectors do have id,
wroxham bridge pilot , yes it is now compulsory to use the pilot ,
time to moor up ? i always suggest 2-3pm ,that way you'll get a mooring ,or if you intend to mudweight ,anytime of day lol , and won't get charged lol
good luck and enjoy
