I know the dangers of cruising when there is ice about like this (I've watched Titantic!) but can the ice do any harm to the boat while it is moored up?  Having seen the pics of Beccles yacht station I guess our marina is probably iced over, but if the boats not moving, is it still at risk? I've never been around the Broads in weather like this, and don't really know how the ice effects everything.
Am worried about the pride and joy but not a hope of getting there to check on her.

Unlikely especially where there is a tidal range which will break the ice around the hull as it goes up and down.

The local BBC news just said that the coldest part of the area last night was beccles at -7 C, pass the scotch.

Where i live we are geting -17 at night time and - 5 for the day.  At least the kids have been having fun. they have even made an igloo.  Cheers Geoff.
