Hi All

Yes we've gone and done it, its been six years that we have not had a boat outside our property as other things always seem to take priortiy. Now as most of you know I got made redundant in March (Still not found anything) and lots of you that wrote comments and PM'd me said if you can do something that's going to make you happier then take the plunge and go for it, so this weekend after watching all the boats going by and people having a great time we decided to purchase our friends parent's boat as they had got a newer one.  It's a Berchwood day boat 22 foot, white, and in need of some TLC, it's proberly nothing special to some of you, but to us it's going to be a great little work horse for us getting all of our things down from the bridge to our holiday home plus going for a little cruise and visiting a few pubs.   Hubby will do all the work on it and in a few weeks time it will look so different.  We've started to make a list of things it's going to need and this is where I need your help if you can although I will check out things on ebay.

We need so far:

3 Adult life Jackets
An Air Horn
Battery operated Nav Lights
A Captains seat one that folds down
Paint.  White and Oxford blue
Seat cushions and covers

I will have a look back at old topics for some answers to bits and pieces.

Application has gone off today for change of ownership and we are sorting out some insurance.

Oh I'm very excited and can't wait to get going in cleaning her up.  Her name will be MaRu made up of the first two letters of mine and my hubby's name.

So once up and running flag will be flying on our very own boat, oh I now feel even more part of this great forum.

Hoping to meet lots of you at the meet in a couple of weeks, that remind me must have a word with Jake about picking us up.

Cheers everyone

Maxine  Smile

My thoughts exactly ... life's too short.  Thats what made me spend redundancy money on our boat.  Hubby ended up seeing the point and is retiring a few months early in July so we have more time to enjoy being aboard.  Well done!

I wish you would tell me you were comming aboard dear ...that coffee was realy hot! Ruth

Well done - hope you will be flying your forum flag on your new boat.

Just a thought we have just bought a fold down captains seat from Jeckells of Oulton - now I know they are always thought to be more expensive than the net say, but we got ours for £45.99 as opposed to the net being £49.99 and then £5 postage on top.   So when looking on Ebay you will perhaps find a bargain.
