Confused   Hi folk, I know this is the mooring prices ( Day mooring £5 - Overnight mooring until 9.00am £12 )  But what happens if i arrive at 7pm and then leave 4pm the next day, that only 21hrs mooring.  Confused Geoff.

Geoff,

Assume the worst, you are going to pay £17 for your stay. £12 for overnight and £5 for day mooring.

Anything less will be a bonus.

That is a scandalous amount of dosh to moor at YH! Common sense might suggest £10.00 for up to 24 hours.

Just as a reminder though, the law of the land allows you to moor up for free if waiting for the tide. Mind you, arriving seven hours before the tide turns might be pushing it!

Is YH itself worth £17.00?

P.S. The staff at the yacht station have always been ace whenever I've stopped there.

Jenny Morgan,

Concur with what Jenny just said.

We spent two nights at Norwich YS recently at £12/night (10am-10am) and the warden came round for the extra £5 just after 11am on the last day. All I said was "waiting for the tide at 1.30pm" and he just nodded and went on his way.

But £17 at YH??... no way!

Cheers

If you moor at GY whilst waiting for the tide then it is free as you say.
BUT if you moor whilst waiting for the tide AND you leave the bounds of the mooring ie pop to tescos then you are likely to be charged.

I was told this last year "if you go through the gate then we will have to charge you" I was told.

Hi,

I was going to stop at the Yacht Station on Friday night but didn't like the look of it (my first journey in a new-to-me boat I wasn't going to let it get caught under the pile capping).

I went on to Marina Keys just upstream and can confirm what Steve said above - £10 overnight and free during the day.

The owner seemed very helpful, and there was a petrol station 100 yards away so I could top up the emergency can. The river wall looked kinder as well! I'd happily moor there again.

Regards, Steve

Is it correct that you have to pay again after 9.00am?
9.00 am doesn’t exist when I’ve had a glass or two the night before.
