Nice jump, shame about the bank erosion and swamped nests...

hi all.
could not a centre be set up on breydon for sking and boarding might cost a bit but then it will stop it on the rivers.
just a thought  for all broads users.

Oh dear...here we go again...

(removes tongue from cheek and disengages irony chip)

I wasn't trying to advocate waterskiing on the Norfolk Broads I merely wanted to share the picture with you all as an example of the BA's double-standards on what is and what isn't acceptable wash in their opinion.

I spend my time adjusting throttles to ensure low wash and these people are allowed to blast up and down the river with no care for the environment. Personally, I think it stinks...

No matter where it's being done though...this dude is good at it...shame he doesn't restrict it to Breydon Water or the North Sea!

I'm not sure how safe Beydon would be. even at high tide if the tow boat hit mud I could see the guy on the board being slingshoted to where least he expected to be, probably into a post.  I have said elsewhere at certain times Whitlingham would be ideal and we could all go and watch but it seems not to be Confused

Never thought of Whitlingham...that would be a great place for it. Leave it to you to come up with a winner, Bill  Smile

Mark says it's a non runner which I think is daft, played the right way NSSA could go back to Filby and Skiers could have events which would bring in the pots of money needed to keep Whitlingham afloat. Dash it if you can afford £20,000 for a wakeboarding boat you can afford it more than some young schoolkid who can just about rake together £20 for sailing leasons. Might even wash the blue green algey off the beaches  Mad

Sounds like good sense to me too, Bill...why oh why can't those in charge see beyond the end of their collective noses? They think hiking tolls up will cure all ills..it won't. They need other moneyspinners like those mentioned by yourself...the events could bring in loads of money to the Broads whilst minimising the environmental trade-off.
