This brochure looks fab. The fact that the ebay username is also Broads01 is pure coincedence & it's not at all because I wish to plug my own item...ahem!
Talk about coincidences! Main Pic Front Cover (Superior Gem 3 L63) 1979
I remember very well, my wife and I working all-day on the boat pictured getting her ready for the photo-shoot the following day. That would now be 29yrs ago! How time fly's when your having fun eh?
And still going strong out of the Horizon yard at Acle!
All the Best

Wow Tony. I take it you're the chap on the front cover then? And are those your children on the front of the boat? How did you end up doing the photo shoot - I assume you weren't paying to hire the boat at the time.
Yes, Dawn Horizon (built 1978) is one of a few current hire boats I spotted in the brochure. Amongst the others are Magic Gem, Amber Gem, Ultimate Gem & Ferry Mutineer (one of which became Pacific Emerald).
No..afraid not. We were involved only in the preparation side of things..i.e. sleaves rolled up ect!! She had returned off hire that Sat morning and was booked by Blakes for the photo-shoot the following day (Sun). I recall it was a scorching day as well and the Hirefleet Manager at the time, Laurence Dale asigned my wife and myself to the task of a full valet of her. (Inside and Out). I believe that models/actors were employed for the shoot (certainly no one with connections to the yard). I actually have a copy of the brochure and a couple of other shots appear inside on pages 6/7 and 14/15.
Happy Days .and we were a lot younger then
Best Regards...Terry
