Quite a few years ago now I saw moored at a private mooring in front of a bungalow between the Swan Inn and the entrance to Blackhorse Broad the cruiser that acted the part of Margoletta in the TV programme Swallows and Amazons.  At the time she was showing the name Margoletta and her real name.  Can anyone remind me what that was? Is she still about?
I suppose once I find her real name there is bound to be a database somewhere that will give me the answer to the second question.

She was called "Janca" and lived in Horning for several years, but vanished some time ago, I know not where. Across her transom you could still make out the temporary name "Margoletta".

Thanks Shakespeare.
Another addition to my copious notes!

Around 12 years ago Janca was for sale at Wroxham Boat Sales and 'If Only' I could have afforded her AND  the repairs that she needed to her Hog. A truly beautiful boat!
I will be speaking to Dave and Jackie in the next couple of weeks and will ask them if they can remember what happened to her.

You mean the other Starboard then...

She did spend some time in the Museum of the Broads before it moved to Stalham. Maybe they could help.

Will you please send a man to look at my water, it is a funny colour and not fit to drink.

For some time the 'Catchalot' stand in was moored outside the pub just above Bishop's bridge in Norwich. Loyne's old Golden Plover was the boat cast adrift.

Now's there a thought for a special event reassemble the boats used, some of the cast, have reading from the books, somewhere like the Fairhaven gardens. with the books and videos for sale via the EDP or something

Well you said, "Aim for the green post!" Bill...

I'll tell you what Bill, your on to a wonderful idea to promote the broads.

If the cast could be reassembled, at least in part and some of the old boats it would make a wonderful day out and might just revive interest in the area for a few people at least.

Is there an anniversary coming up perhaps, since the book was written or the filme version made ......

Patrick Throughton is dead sadly but John Vine (PC Tedder) and port and Starboard's father I think are still about as premusably are the lads and lasses who took part. As for anniversaries I don't know others here might and we would need to seek the views of someone with links to the navigation committee and TV world whether there is such a person............
