Well I'm gutted,

Our Trusty lifelong friend and companion 'Dusty' will be 'Away' in the morning.

Dusty has been on every Broads weekly trip since we got him as a pup over 13 years ago.

I have had to take the painfull decision of booking him in at the vets for him to be put to sleep. I shall of course be with him. I'm then off to the pet crem and his ashes will be put in at Malthouse broad to join my Mum and Dad.

Dusty has a slowly worsening condition of this throat closing up thereby suffocating him into a collapse whenever he suffers an 'Attack'  These attacks have been kept down to one a week-ish. Since the weekend however he has been having two a day and I just cannot bear seeing him suffer like this.

My Lad (19) is coming with us to the vets in the morning, I'm dreading it.  Frown

Dusty has been a great 'Broads' friend when ever he has been onboard.

The whole family is really going to miss him, my daughter (20)will be beside herself

Dusty is Thirteen n half. I really am going to miss the old fella.

Deepest sympathy.

A hard decision, but made for all the right reasons.

Sincere condolences.

Hi Griff,
Really sorry to hear about Dusty, I,m sure he will be missed by you and all the crew of BA.

I only "met" him the once or twice and thought how well behaved he was.

13, cant complain for that breed.

Good luck to you all.

Regards

So sorry to hear Griff - it's such a hard decision to have to make, but you know when the time comes that you have to do what's best for them however heartbreaking it is to lose them.

Will be thinking of you all.

Slow down and enjoy life, its not only the scenery you miss by going to fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.....

sad, think of the fun u had with dusty, when i put to sleep my much loved parrot i went out and got another one about a week after. Might sound strange but i couldnt bear to be at home without the noise of her.

My new parrot helped loads. its always hard to lose a pet like my mum says they are unconditional with there love, and sadly missed when they are gone

dusty RIP x
