Hi Richard, My Last boat, a 1996 built 29' Alphacraft formerly Ferry Mutineer , had a bath. Allowing for the fact that they take up much more room than a shower so hence the bathroom must be larger than is the norm, and you will use your full tank of hot water filling it up, having a bath during an extended stay on board is a rare luxuary which IMHO is worth the expenditure of the extra space required. If the numbers ever came up and I got to build my own broads boat then a bath would be included (and a larger hot water tank ). Rod

i know it is not the broads but, three years ago we had a change of venue and did a week on the oxford canal starting from rugby with rose narrow boats. the boatwas called "JOEY" and it was equipped with a full size bath, lashings of hot water in a roomy bathroom, fabulous. alan

Swan Roamer & Rapture both have baths, and you can have a reasonable bath in them. We have hired them both and the bathrooms are a very good size they have also been fitted with larger water tanks and in the case of Roamer a water gauge, so you can keep an eye on your usage; although we have always tended to top up every day. We have hired Georgia Girl this year which also has a bath, I have a bit of trouble with the old pins, and sometimes all that eases them is a soak in a hot bath, so a bit of a god send for me.

hi Richard the Belair that used to run out of sabena had a full size whirlpool bath or somthing of that type. did not try it my self, but her indoors did. it took ages to fill and acording to her it went cold rather quick. not suprised at that though she has a large skin area. plus when she pulled the plug, a 3ft bore went hurtling down stream from Acle towards Yaremouth. clogger

All the boats we've hired with baths have been "sit baths", they've had a little seat to sit on slightly higher than the bottom of the bath. It was great as a kid - and with my three would be a godsend now. My Mum loves them. And if you like showers it's great because you have much more room. I think one of the Alpha new ones (probably Rapide) has a whirlpool or something, if my memory serves me right! Its been a while since we had a boat with a bath but I cant remember it ever being a problem with water. Thumbs up for baths on boats!

enclose pic of bath on probably the largest two berth hire boat on the broads "jaguar, now clair de lune"SWMBO. used it not much room for a lump my size.
regards mike Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. STINKIES UNITED.

We have a bath on our Calypso 28. It's brilliant and wouldn't change it even though it does take up more room than a shower. It's not a full size bath but I can just about stretch my legs out straight and I'm 6 feet tall. I wouldn't say that it uses a great deal of water either because by the time you fill it with 3 or 4 inches of water and get in it, it is nearly at the top. Probably uses less water that some people that like to stand under the shower for 10 minutes!

Hi All, We have four boats in the Key-holder scheme with full-size baths (our 42-footer has two) and yes, our Bel Air does have a whirlpool bath - which works very well, provided you've cruised for a little while before you use it so that theres enough inverter power! Baths on boats are fine, provided you have an upgraded water heating system - even if you only use them for cleaning up the little ones! Gordon www.boatlineuk.com

I am sure that the Admiral (from Brooms -caught the steam train from Liverpool St.) we hired when I was three (and earlier at 16mths) - late 1950s had a bath. The old catalogues would probably say. LG

We once hired a two person boat from a yard in wroxham (name of both escapes me) with a full bathroom suite in... burgandy or maroon (very 1970s). It took up a lot of room on the boat but you couldnt get enough water for a bath. The shower was sited to the end with less headroom, which made showering a right PITA oh, and the proper flushing bog filled the sewage tank PDQ.
