I think we should make Alf a "Life Time Forum Meet Member".

He has always help members out when we have had both formal and informal meets.

I nice plaque or something to present to him wouldn't go a miss in my opinion

Alfie was looking at retiring at the end of last season but has told us he will def be there this year. We see regularly(most weekends) from easter onwards so will keep a close ear to the ground re his plans - I certainly think that when he does retire, we should organise something for him, and a presentation at the meet might be a great idea.

As for those moles - they delare war each year, but Alf gets em sorted one way or another! What a star, and a true gent. We will miss him when he does hang up his little money bag and notebook...

hi all,
not to much of an update for the meet up for February month ,
1st of is although i've said this on another thread ,but i'd like to thank those of you that are coming from the southern broads side for this event ,it takes a small bit of organising ,and by the sounds of it leaving in the early hours ,so a BIG THANK YOU ,
2nd , Mike (jaguar) has organised some stuff for those of us who have kids to do on the day / evening and i think even a compition for them , and will let us know nearer the time , so thank you mike for that ,
tug of war event , belive we are still looking for more ladies  for the team , so come on ladies please do sign up for this fun event ,
with regards to the island caretaker Alfie , i to belive that we should give him something for he's help / time that he has gave us the forum with the forum annual meet up and with the mini meets , he is a truly wonderfull gent that has always had time to talk and help people that moor on the island ,
looking at the site meet up list i've noticed quite a few you have signed up for coming  , just over half the island moorings have gone by the look of the list , so there is plenty of room still if you any of you are thinking of coming ,
cheers

steve and vicky

Hi All

Now we've got Easter over and what nice weather was'nt it! tounge-in-cheek see my piccy taken on Easter Monday below (the Staithe is just the other side of the tree line!).
I thought it was about time to start requesting you all for Raffle and Tombola prizes  Tinhat. Yes I know it's early to be thinking about it but soon we will have sunshine and a heatwave and we'll all be out boating, so on your trips down to the Broads please PM me or feel free to drop off loads of prizes to me in Stalham or down to the boat at Acle.

Kind regards, John(Captain Joshie)& Jo, 'Rosie L'Ondine' L799.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Well remembered slim.

Have been down there all weekend but forgot to look.

Will pop down during the week and check to see if we still have said rope.
