Well... I'm inclined to say that I'll throw my weight behind this suggestion! Girls - never fear, its universally accepted that we ladies lie about our age and our weight. We can always shave a bit off, as long as we dont push our luck toooo far (such as claiming to be 25 when we have at least a vague memory of the Bay City Rollers!, or telling our friends we are still a size 12 then cutting the labels out of our new clothes! Oops! I'm giving our secrets away.... Karen PS A belated happy new year to all - we got a truly gruesome bug on the 2nd Jan that floored us both for best part of 2 weeks - yuk! Am now catching up with all the threads... and chucking a few controversial comments about, as usual "Wind up the elastic band Karen - we're setting off!!" EDIT for typo - brain still not firing on all cylinders No edit - just reset as a 'sticky topic'

I'll volunteer her indoors for the ladies team. She ain't got much weight behind her but, she's as stubborn has a mule and can hang on for dear life to the bed spread these cold winter nights...

you're a brave man paul! mike
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. STINKIES UNITED.

TUG-O-WAR rope needeed! griff, your mooring rope admirable as it may be is too thin for this purpose(slipping rope will cause ropeburns) surely someone connected with ;-sports groups, youth groups and the like will have access to one the usual size (size does matter!)even one of our nautical brethren may be able to help! mike

Hi all Firstly apologies for being quiet for a while but myself and BT have had a few 'issues'. Anyway, I'll happily take part in any tug-of-war match and am willing to volunteer my 20st (or near offer, depending on the pie and chips intake of the days leading upto the meet) to any team (as well as the exhibition match) willing to make me the best offer. I have had experience having been involved with a team in my younger days. Chris J

Vicky Ahem i think your ladies team should take us poor men on,then when you beat us and we are in a sad sorry huddle on the grass you can feel sorry for us and pat our heads and be nice, even better fetch a beer over to help us recover. Game On.

quote:"...... 'NBF - The Broad Ambition Tugging Trophy' ......." There you go, the Forum Flyweights against Broad Ambition. Not the crew, the boat. BA must, within 2 minutes, be cruising without any of the flyweights attached to the rope (and dry!!). With regard to the rope, I believe I have one at Decoy but cant get down there until Good Friday so will have to let you know later
