Hi all (well those that are still around!!).

If you havent signed up I wouldnt worry too much about it, turn up and enjoy the event. If you want to take a box or three of wine then go with it.

Just remember to take money for raffle tickets and tombola Cheers

You got that dead wrong. I been much misunderstood.
This is my side of the story.

There I was lying low in the grass as usual. I'd set up station near a blue boat that always smelled really nice, a combination of keep-net and something really attractive. A grumpy bloke seemed to be more or less living on the boat..he smelled OK too.

This particular weekend, there was a lot of coming and going and the nice smell was stronger than usual.Night came and the grumpy bloke went to bed. I snoozed for a bit, dunno how long, when Grumpy, he gets up and heads for the bushes. I followed quietly, and boy was I glad I did! There was a whole fountain of Stella flowing! Well, I know now that was the name of the really attractive 'something'.  Was I grateful!

Now I don't know how it is but this Stella seemed to affect my ability to stay upright, but I wanted to show my gratitude to Grumpy so I hugged him round the ankles.

I suppose it was a mistake, 'cos he went down like a log! He said some words I haven't been able to find on this forum and went back in the boat.

Soon after I found a picture of me bu the boat with some writing on it. I thought it might say something nice so I started learning to read this forum so's I could find out.

Does 'Beware of the Grass Monster' sound friendly to you? Do I deserve this for being friendly? NO. How do you think I felt eh??

Now there's a bit of a surprise and a mystery. The blue boat's still there but no Grumpy and NO STELLA. I was expecting a regular supply of the stuff, but no, not a drop for weeks.

I have noticed a lot of coming & going this weekend and  a faint whiff of my beloved, so I will seek Stella out. It's my mission.

Does this mean you're moving off our mooring???

Pauline

'Stop it you silly ass!' cried the Rat from the bottom of the boat 'You can't do it! You'll have us over!'

Evening,

Just home from the meet, think there may be a few incriminating piccies later!!

Roya has been renamed Rudolph. He has drunk that much Saint Ettiene (Poor mans Stella), that his nose is now red LOL

We saw the raffle before we left, will leave it to John and Jo to announce those results.

One last thing, what a ferrymaster that young Jake is. He could teach Richard alot about manoeuvring a boat, just a shame it wasnt under sail.

hi Gary
Glad all went well, I have been in Doncaster all day watching the rain and hoping it was better down there.
Can't wait to see pics to put names to faces.

Hi All

We have just got back from a very enjoyable meeting. Nice to see so many members old and new and to put names and faces together.

I would like to propose a vote of thanks to Steve and his team for putting on a really good event. Much appreciated by all of those who were there.

I will post some photographs when I have sorted them. I will try to get them into a Flickr album rather than post them on the site as this is a lot quicker.

Best wishes

Nigel
