Hi Mason Welcome to the forum. If you are setting out on Pico Light, you will go right past my boat Woodwose which is moored nearby. Give me a wave if I'm there. Nigel Ludham

Roya thanks. Woodwose, I can't belive how many times I have seen your boat & until now taken any notice, your a lucky man having such a great house & boat. Pitty you were not around for me to give you a shout and say "hello" Just a quick question, how did your boat become named as Woodwose? whats the story behind the name?

Hi Mason Sorry I missed you when you went past. I didn't spend much time by the river last week due to the poor weather. What's in a name? We like to give our boats unusual names and Woodwose is no exception. When we got the boat it was called "Olivian". The people we bought it from were not called Olive and Ian so I suppose the name goes back further. Anyway - we recently moved to live in Ludham and we named the boat after the Woodwose which you can find in St Catherine's Church, Ludham. Next time you are in Ludham, go into the church (which is well worth a visit) and have a look at the font. Carved onto the font are two woodwoses. A woodwose is a pagan mythical person sometimes called a "Green Man". Anyway, Ludham has two and one is a female woodwose which is extremely rare. We did think about naming it after the Ludham Dragon - but that's another story. Nigel Ludham
