Popped in to the Bridge for a pint of lunch and I thought the place was being robbed "where do you keep the float", "where's the safe" etc. turns out that the owners of the Wayford Bridge are taking over.

Hope they 'buck things up'. It is a great spot but we found it to be pricey for the very ordinary fare, earlier this year.
Regards Perry It is not wealth or ancestry, but honourable conduct and a noble disposition, that maketh men great

If the comments I recieved from the staff at Wayford are correct then I fully expect a great improvement in this place and about time too. If someone is able to put a link to my earlier thread about the new owners of the Wayford Bridge Hotel please do so. Otherwise the gist of my post was ,that althouth there are new owners of the WBH the standards have not dropped one bit and it is still one of the top places to have a meal out on the broads IMHO. The staff at the WBH were very impressed with the new owners and their plans to attract more boaters and families into the hotel. As Perry said a great location at Acle but one I have been dissapointed with for a few years now. Rod Rod You mean the other Starboard then... Edited to include link.. Wayford

the shop was up for sale, when I went past yesterday I couldn't see the "for sale" sign, then again I couldn't even see the river through the rain.

The for sale sign was on Bridge Stores on Friday. Always looks welcoming from the river and road.
