Was speaking to the NT ranger at Horsey Mill last weekend.

He was telling me that Pollutants going into Waxham Cut have been stopped and it is expected (Hoped??) that that will clean the water in Horsey and encourage the rare weed growth same as Hickling.    That will be another good sailing place ruined!!

How much of the Broads has to be choked up before it stops being rare?  Perhaps someone could come up with a design for a keel scythe attachment?

Sorry Simon, I had to respond

This is why Horsey weed alias Holly-leaved Naiad (Najas marina) will remain as a rarity - it's only found in the Broads

Oops - forgot to say the map is taken from the National Biodiversity Network website

Craig,

If it is allive and thriving on Hickling why the need to encourage it on ~Horsey, unless it is to discourage visitors : Sailors/holidaymakers/fisherman,  if fact anything belonging to the human species.    Weed power reigns  OK!
