I've now heard from two unrelated sources that John at Wayford has been given notice to vacate the site there. I understand the landlord now wants to develop the site, so John has to go. Personally, I think it is a great shame when this sort of thing happens. Ok - it looks a bit ramshackle! But that is what you get when there are a large number of boats in various stages of repair/disrepair. We went looking there, before we bought Dragonfly. We found both John and his wife extremely helpful. A colleague has bought two boats through John - again, each time John could not have been more helpful. I feel very sorry for John! Where could he go to continue his business? Malc

Unfortunately I was told that a few weeks ago but asked not to go public with it at that time . Quite what happens now for the boat sales is pretty uncertain I guess its always hard to find land big enough and near a river to say nothing of planning permission , I except at some point Jon will explain things in full .

>>> I was told that a few weeks ago but asked not to go public with it at that time<<< I thought it was odd that there was no mention here about it. That explains it! I did wonder if it was just a rumor that someone had put about, but with no truth. Sadly then, it IS true. Malc.

I Echo Sadie's post. We bought a real pup on his advice. As first time buyers we were looking for genuine advice- didn't get it. Regardless of our feelings personally for Jon it is a real shame to see that yard go as a working yard as they are no alternatives. I understood some time ago that he was asked to vacate but that he was unwilling to do so. I would hope that the moorings would stay but a lot of owners will miss the yard.
Regards Pauline
