Practical question Brian. What's the situation regarding frozen river, snow melt and floods?
Mal 16E Life isn't about waiting for the rain to stop. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I noted that my first post stated 3000koruny p.a. mooring fees. It is in fact 3000 per month which is just under 1,000 pounds per year...including water and shore power. There was terrible flooding on the Vlatava in 2002 but normally the flow is well controlled by a very large dam at Slapy, about 25miles upstream of Prague. The river does not usually ice up,in fact it is less prone than most areas of the Broads. There are a few residents at the mooring....two who live in houseboats, the site owner who lives on what appears to be a small coaster, and one who has a flat in town but lives most of the time on site in a camper van.The site is very well secured and all the residents are either electrical or mechanical engineers.I live across the city, diagonally opposite the mooring, and it takes me less than 30 minutes to get there by tube.We appear to be a happy, helpful little community and I cannot praise my new Czech friends highly enough. Finally, thankyou Stuart, you got the right photo this time. Best wishes to all, Brian.
