Hello everyone, I have at last aquired my own boat. My intention of cruising to Prague from Holland was well and truly scuppered due to low water levels in the Elbe ..... it,s possible to walk across in some places. I did however manage to negotiate a very large discount on combined cost of boat plus road transport and delivery will be on or after the 20th of August. She is named De Hoop...The Hope in English and is 10 metres by 3.2 metres and 0.7 metres draught and is all steel, 5 berths, dual steering, bow thruster, etc. She is in very good nick and the only downside is the lack of a shower, usual on Dutch boats, due to the plethora of shore based facilities in Holland. Soon the forum flag will be proudly fluttering on the Vlatava and the Elbe although I can only cruise on the former at the moment. I have a mooring reserved about half a mile south of the city centre, 3000 Czech Koruny p.a.....just under 90 pounds and that includes water. Optimistically yours, Brian.

Excellent,I am very happy for you. May you have many years of happy, trouble free cruising in her.
Captain Howe. The Eagle may soar majestic, but you don't suck a Stoat into your jet engines. Please leave the water and banks as you would wish to find them.

I do not have a clue how to post pics but fortunately my stepson and wife are here on holiday until Friday so I hope that they can do the biz. My grasp on modern technology does not progress any further than the dolly tub and the gas mantle. Fingers crossed,Brian.

I,ve just realised that it isn,t my boat....same model as mine...but this is a photo of a boat adjacent to mine in the Dutch boatyard which I viewed but didn,t buy. Here,s hoping that Stuart can post photos of my boat which he took in Prague last Monday. Brian.
