hi all, "But now people can put Great Yarmouth’s adopted warship HMS Dauntless on their mantelpiece, with the unveiling of a new Airfix model of a Type 45 destroyer." http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/hms_dauntless_is_shrunken_as_airfix_model_1_1745772

Should have marked it up to £120.00, then the good folk of Yarmouth might be more inclined to buy it at 'half price'! £60.00 just for a plastic kit that you can't do anything with! Was a time when Airfix kits were two bob!
Jenny Morgan, A vane, a boat, but not a bird. If ignorance is bliss, then why aren't there more happy people about?

I was thinking exactly the same as Jenny Morgan... How much? Should be more like £19.99 Now, shall we guess where they are made? Not the UK... I had (and still have) an Airfix slot car racing set, from 1966. The cars were based on their 1/32nd scale model cars, but with a small 12 volt motor inside and Ackerman steering. All british made. The detail was far greater than their scalectric equivalent, and the replacement bodies were cheap to buy too. I eventually upgraded the set to 6 lanes, with banked curves and hump back bridges. I think I had about 15 cars, but not sure what state their tyres will be in! Still in loft.
best regards, Richard. I can't wait to be back on our boat on the Broads.
