Very sad to hear that The Hermitage is up for sale. One of the best fish restaurants on The Broads. Looks like Chris is looking to retire and the business is being sold as a going concern. Hopefully someone comes along to buy it, otherwise another watering hole and moorings could be lost.

Where is the Hermatage?

If you leave the bridge inn and take the road that leads past Acle it is on the left hand side just before where you would turn right into Acle. Not a riverside location, but if you wander down Acle dyke to the river you will find a length of mooring on The Bure that they either own or lease.

Ahh, That Henny Youngman!  I haven't been in there for years. Obviously much improved since my last visit.

Genuinely sad to hear this.

One of my absolute favourites.

Really hope a buyer can be found who can maintain the high standards we have always experienced here.

My advice to anyone who hasn't been would be to go soon!

Was disappointed last May that the Hermitage didn't do dinners on Sunday evenings!

Anyone know what's happening to this? Wandered past last week and there is now a 'sold' sign outside. Seemed to have had a coat of paint outside as well.

I've heard through the local jungle drums that the Indian Takeaway in Acle has bought it.

The sold sign has been there about a month now so not sure why there hasn't been any movement.
