Hi Ray and Dan, Many thanks for this information. I have been really struggling to find a 2/4 berth boat to add a midweek break onto the front of our already booked week in July (if that makes sense) Hadn't thought of Pacific but a quick call this morning has us on Pacific Emerald for the extra 4 days As has been reported on here I was asked what time we would like to take over the boat on the Monday and what time we would like to return it on the Friday!!! What service. So now, we shall vacate from Loddon on the Friday and tranship to Brundall and onto Silent Shadow for the next seven days. Will have to go in to the Calender and put in the extra days, that will give my countdown timer a boost Regards John

Dan Absolutely brilliant Had almost written off the extra days to gardening and DIY But that will have to wait now whilst we do something far more enjoyable! We will post back report on boat(s), with piccies, when we get back. Thanks again John

Hi John Glad the post helped you get a Boat,Boating is always better than Gardening! Hope you have a great time. Like Dan I am surprised they have so many avaliable craft prehaps They should make more of the fact that they do short breaks looking at the web site it would indicate that they only do 7 day hire's starting on a Saturday. They also have a well priced Day Boat for hire

Hi Ray, This forum has really shown how helpful its members can be. As well as your and Dan's post I was able to check in the search function for Pacific Emerald and found this link.
quote:"...... http://www.the-norfolk-broads.co.uk/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=37&Topic=2335&keywords=pacific%20emerald ......." An older boat yes, a Calypso 29 I believe, but good value and from the other post a really good yard. Will let you know how we get on. Hi John. Hired Pacific Emerald at Easter & posted about it on the link added above. Had a great time & the service from the yard was superb. Interested you've managed to hire for 4 days as Pacific don't advertise short breaks. Bearing in mind the Hoseasons & Blakes sting you for 70% of the week charge (even for 3 nights) & then still lump on the full week damage waiver, I'm interested to know what you're paying for Pacific Emerald?

Hi Simon, I just rang up and asked them if they did midweek breaks and got the answer, yes they do. The actual charge is 73% of a full weeks hire (don't think it is right to quote actual figures on here, but I am sure if you visit their site, you would be able to work that out ) I think this is fair as the work they need to do in preparation is the same as full weeks hire and I am more than happy with the price. The prices they quote are inclusive of all the usual add-ons that other yards charge, except for the fuel surcharge, but we should get most of that back as we will only be pottering about for these 4 days. They have added £20 for our dog but again some yards charge £35 for a full week for a pet. Regards John P.S. Simon, just realised I did not credit you with the above link to Pacific Emerald, apologies and thanks for your help in reaching our decision to hire this boat.
