The planning application for the redevelopment of Wayford Marina is now available to view on the BA web site. There is an interesting section in the planning statement: "Public Access There will be 30m of quay headed mooring on the river frontage for overnight moorings. These will be served with water and electric points. The whole site will have wifi and the public will have access to the shower and toilet block. There will also be waste and recycling facilities for the private and public moorings. The slipway will be made available for the public to launch boats and canoes and there will an area adjacent to the slipway reserved for parking associated trailers."
"..for the avoidance of any doubt, the broads are not legally a national park and do not come under the national park legislation, and nor will they." Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for DEFRA (Hansard 2015)

Will be even more interesting to see what charges are applied to these facilities once up and running! As far as I can see, these documents do not indicate how the site will be laid out.The map does show that there is limited space.

Trevor: Select "Documents" then "View Associated Documents". Plenty there to choose from. Edited to add: I would suggest "Proposed Landscape" or "Proposed Site Plan - 04J". Andy

"New owner Mark King..." now where do I know that name from" Kingline Cottages in Horning I think. Coincidentally, they were up for sale as a job lot last year for a tad under 3 million.

Ah, thank you Steve. So it seems Mr King wants to move on from his holiday cottages at Horning to some new build cottages at Wayford Bridge. Interesting! I was also thinking that the owners of the Wayford Bridge Inn would no doubt be delighted with a number of holiday cottages close by and thus the increased client potential for them. But to me the location is a bit limited there, compared to Horning, in terms of what it can offer holidaymakers. No shops unless you take a car ride, although I think there is still a small farmshop within the garden centre on the main road? Still, what do I know ?! Mr King must have a better knowledge than me, seeing as that's what he does for a living. Karen

Famous singer level 42.... or owner of king line horning perhaps Nice spot for a development, expect it will sail past the planners. Recognised some of the boats, the old Brooke marine motor cruiser and the ubiquitous Matilda which used to be owned by a pleasure boat skipper running out of yarmouth. History can't stand still, change for the boatter!

Didn't he also redevelop the boat yard at Martham with new workshops and accommodation above?
Just because The BA make a request, don't automatically assume they have the powers to make such requests!! Keeping a careful eye on an Authority which is making it's own rules.
