Hi Jim,

Welcome to the site. Interesting to hear your views on Horizon Craft as I was considering hiring from them next year. I too have quite a distance to travel so finding a reliable boatyard is very important. I usually hire from Aston boats who have always been excellent but perhaps I'll try a different yard next time.

Enjoy the site...

regards

Jim

Loved Horizon Craft at Acle.  As a newbie to the broads, I was filled with trepidation but they made the arrival/handover process very smooth and friendly.

Courteous and helpful, they took out a lot of the stress as I ventured into the unknown.  They put the children at ease, provided my dog with his own bouyancy aid and on return of the boat, they couldn't do enough from refueling and mooring up to returning the deposits for fuel and pet without any quibbles.

No hesitation in recommending them

I've read praise of Horizon craft on here before & often fancied hiring from there. Acle Bridge is a lovely spot as well & under-rated in my opinion - you can see so much river from there.

a very good yard indeed we have only ever used their pump out service.the one thing that puts us off hiring from them is the age of the boats they offer.i know they are owned by the horizon group and the acle yard must be one of the biggest yards on the broads now days.they always seem to have a lot of boats out on the water so a few new ones would certainly tempt us to hire from them!the fleet they do offer thought are indeed in first class condition.

Not seen a bad Horizon boat all year. At this stage of the season you half expect to see some hire boats getting ready for a little TLC but the Horizons we saw last weekend and the weekend before looked in superb condition...even the older soldiers. Respect is due to the yard and indeed the hirers themselves...

Hi all
it may just be me but most of the hire craft seem to be in good nick this year,
perhaps its cos there are a lot less of them now,
we used to like starting from Acle with Bridge craft and Horizon as i have said before both super  yards in my humble oppinion, never ever been let down.

roya

where are my pink marigolds.

I've just got home from the best week i've ever had on the Broads...indeed the best holiday i've ever had.

It wasn't just the weather....that was nice, but too hot! How big a battery would be needed to run Air Conditioners?!

Blue Horizon was built in 1989 (i think) yet was in superb condition. We had two small leaks this morning but luckily it didn't inconvenience us. The engine ran beautifully; the galley was excellent....Lizzie loved cooking on the boat and turned out soup, a beef casserole, full Scottish breakfasts and many other things with no bother at all. The beds were large and comfortable, the showers magnificently powerful and generally i'd have to say it eclipsed every other boat i've been on by a considerable distance.

The boatyard staff were also tremendous. Day 1 was ease itself and we had a really good, thorough run-through. Today they were again superb and as i was phoning a taxi for the run to Acle station one of the chaps stopped me and led me to their bus, then ferried us there....this was at their busiest period yet nothing was a problem.

Utterly magnificent boat, boatyard and holiday.
