My new very very favourite Broads pub.

We made our first visit there last week. Arrived latish, about 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday to find they weren't serving food - not a good start!  But by the end of the evening, fortified by the Orange Wheat beer (tried the others as well) we were thoroughly in love with the place.

Cheap ale, child friendly, candlelight - perfect evening.

We'll never be able to book a boat with a high air draft again - Geldeston is now number one destination.

Glad to hear that The Locks is still winning new friends. We were converted many years ago but once we started hiring a boat with a high air draft we could no longer reach it.

Back on a small boat this year so out of the Chet, right turn and off to Geldeston we go!

Was there for the last night of our Easter trip.  The orange wheat beer was very good.  The staff friendly.  The fire crackling.  Only slight downside was no food available so off we staggered to cook supper, pint glasses in hand, to be returned the next day

Used to go to the Locks loads in my child hood. lots of good memories, always a little eerie though. returned a few years ago and glad to see its not really changed that much. beer was good as were the surroundings

If you're going as far as Beccles its well worth a visit.
