Hi All,

The Wayford Bridge Hotel is under new Management.

As a long time customer of this place we decided to check it out on Monday.

We can report back that the standards have not changed one bit and it is still very high up on my best places on the broads list.

Chatting to some of the staff they are most impressed with the new owners style of management and there have been a few changes to things.

The Bistro menu has been reduced in size but the meals that we had were superb and the choice was still large.

There is a new kids play area and a definate move to make the place more child friendly.

They are still dog friendly in the bar area.

Anyone who has seen this years Paulines guide to the broads will see that there is now a 50% discount on the extortionate mooring fees (£4 during the day and an extra £8 per night) at the moorings on the grass opposite.Parties of 6 or more will have the whole mooring fee refunded.

I will add that the moorings opposite are nothing to do with the Hotel and this reduction in fees is coming directly out of the Hotels pocket in a bid to improve the trade from boaters.

In fact I was more than a bit miffed when I learened this as £4 per night does not seem too bad but the rip off owners of the moorings are still getting their full whack and I still felt ripped off. Its only a matter of time before someone breaks an ankle and sues the A** off these rip off merchants.

Two boats = £16 per night and that is very close to the taxi fee from Stalham and back and this is what I will be doing in future if the BA moorings before the brigde are full.

Morring at the public Staithe in Stalham or at Richardsons is free.

Glad to say that the Hotel is still a superb place to dine.

ps the Adnams was pretty good too

You mean the other Starboard then...

I totally agree with you on the food at the Hotel. My wife and i had a fantastic meal there the last bank holiday weekend. Great service, great food and a great price.
As for the moorings, we got in for free at the bridge.

Next time you are up there try the fsrm shop just past the hotel for fantastic fresh fruit, eggs and home made sausages, burgers and bacon. Our boat smelt like a cafe!!!
