We have been ebjoying the broads for over ten years now but have just had our worst visit to a pub ever. It was the Reedham Ferry. We ordered our drinks and went to sit at the only available table in the dining area. The waitress told us all the tables were reserved and we would have to stand in the bar. I had a major opperation last year so try to avoid standing as much as possible. We asked if we could stay at the table to finish our drinks or until the party arrived. The waitress didn't know if this was possible so we asked to speak to someone who would know. The manager arrived shouting at the top of his voice and threw us out of the pub. I was very upset and we will ofcorse never visit this pub again. On a better note after this very embarassing occasion we went to the Cantly Reedcutters and were made very welcome - they couldn't believe what had happened

Two sides to every story and this side is so unlike the Ferry that I have made up my mind already.  Baloney.

Sounds a bit bad that oh and mardler I don't think calling other members liars or baloney is really very helpful afterall it's their opinion.

I`m not going to express an opinion in any direction, as I know none of the parties mentioned or involved.  However I will just point out how interesting it is that it was Badgers first and so far only post.

Hi,
Thank you for your comments. You are right in that this is only our side of the story. I have never posted on this site before but often read through all the discussions. I decided to share my experiences on this occasion because I was so amazed by what happened.

Hi All,
Yep it seems to me most folk have different perceptions of any situation, but are still entitled to their views.
But of course it always helps to post a few more facts,to state ones case.
Please reply factually, without snipes ,keeps it more informative. Smile

have visited Ferry alot this year, and can't say much about the service it was average, although I can say at busy times I felt more as an inconvenience to staff than a customer. I agree with Badger that the Rushcutters is far nicer...

I too had an 'experience' at this pub.  We went on our first ever broads holiday in July and moored up just along from the pub.  Went in for a drink and enquired about a table in the mostly empty restaurant...was told that it was fully booked and that we could go on a waiting list but that they could could not guarentee us a table...

Having moored up for the night, accepted that...the waitress then came and said if we could eat now..she could seat us.  So we did, food was very good, service a little slow and it felt very odd to be the only people in a fairly large restaurant surrounded by tables with reserved signs on.

On the whole tho, apart from the wierdness of them turning people away when the restaurant was empty, was an enjoyable evening.

I agree with previous posts you can only go on your own experiences, I was there on holiday in August for a fortnight and the Ferry was the best evening meal we had, I have been there lots of times over the years I have never had any problems at all.I do sympathize with Badger though.
