Steve, Went there last May with a friends ten year old. They wouldn't let children into the restaurant, but had a family room where you could eat, although on the night in question they had a private function booked in there. We decided to take the walk up to the Hermitage, where despite being very busy, they fitted us in. We were asked if we minded waiting at the bar for 30 mins until a table was available, which because we had a child with us, it appeared we jumped the queue and got the second table that became available. I have been to the bridge inn on other occasions with out a child and found the place to be generally good. Another place worth trying in Acle town centre is Grumpy's restaurant, tried it last Novemebr and had an excellent meal there. Keith

We were there in September, after arriving in Acle after dark, cold and wet. The place was warm, and the beer OK. What stunned me was the bartender was an very asian girl, well dressed up etc, could have just come off the boat from Hong kong, ut as soon as she asked us what we wanted the accent was pure Manchester! The back room does seem to be for families and the "booking" of your meal time totally stupid. Well so I thought, until our meals arrive. It appears that the timing of the meals is based upon the length of time it takes to microwave the orders. Impressed I was not. TV Dinners on china. On the other hand the wait staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enpough to be helpful (probably because they knew how poor the food was), and the bus boy was running around lie a mad man, cleaning up and making sure we had everything. I few years back Bonnie and I went to St. Margrets(?) Mill mid week and had the best meal I have ever had in Norfolk, at an amazing price. i think they went bust shortly afterwards. The hermitage I was also very impressed with, nice moorings, great food.
