I don't usually post reviews on restaurants etc as our tastes are all very different. However, last night 4 of us ate at the Clubhouse, which is located in the now defunct Pedro's in Ferry Road Horning. We had 4 mains, 4 glasses of wine,2 beers and an orange juice and the bill came to £88. The food was delicious and the service was really friendly. A word of caution though. Don't go there if you are in a tearing hurry, it's all cooked from scratch, but well worth the wait! I'm looking forward to going back for more. Smile

Forgot to add. they are open 7 days a week from 8-30 and their phone number is 01692 668400.

Is there any chance you could nip back, take a photo of the menu and post it on here, pretty please?

Scrub that, I've just found their web site http://www.theclubhousehorning.co.uk/

It is a shame they are only open in the evenings on Friday and Saturday.   There is a need for good restaurants in the area open in the evening.

Thanks for that Steve! Possibly one to try this season,  but presumably only when we are able to get there by car, not on the boat.

We never moor on Horning Staithe these days due to the double mooring issues and the fact that some folk tie on regardless. Would not leave the boat to walk down there for the evening, sadly. It's a shame actually as we used to visit Horning and give our business to the shops etc quite regularly.

We also have used a holiday cottage in the past,  right in the centre of the village , usually before Easter to enable us to get the boat ready for the season, but sadly that's no longer available as the owner decided to rent it out as residential long term instead. Otherwise we would have tried the new eatery whilst staying there. We've also wandered down to the New Inn from the same cottage - but with that also being currently closed it seems our opportunities are running out in terms of spending our money  in Horning!

Is there parking available Steve? By the side of the old swimming pool I imagine?

Glad you had a lovely evening, Karen

Hi Karen, there is plenty of parking on site. If you are stuck for a cottage rental, you could try Grebe Island. I may be a little biased 'cos I moor there, but guests keep coming back year after year.

We ate here a couple of evenings towards the end of last year and the food was very good though the menu a little limited. I thought they were open every evening but it appears not or maybe they will once the season starts.

It sounds like another option for drinking/eating in the village, do you know if they sell any real ale?

I don't recall seeing any real ale pumps on the bar, but then apart from a Guinness on a hot day, my tipple of choice is red wine.  Smile
