There were piles of gravel along the moorings earlier today and these have now been leveled out. Also new mooring posts have been put in. I would estimate half has been completed so far.

The house downstream of Acle Bridge, before Acle Dyke, is now offering moorings. There is quite a length of new mooring with nice new posts. £5 to be paid for at the house. I assume you can walk back to Acle Bridge from there but cannot say for sure.

Yes, it’s quite a hike. The only time I’ve ever attempted it was in 1985. We moored at the bridge, saw the signs and thought, ‘It can’t be far’. We turned back before we ever saw the village! But now I live in the area I have seen people using the footpath, as I’ve whizzed by in the car.

I may be late on this but Hey Ho..... I read on the EDP that 'Pedro's in Norwich is going to re-brand as 'Harrys' as an American Diner. Is that right and if so, does that mean that the one in Horning and Acle will be too? I noted today that the 'Pedros' sign had gone at the Horning site, hence the question.
The older I get... The better I was....!!

You’re pedalling the wrong ped! No link between them. Harry’s will be a salute to the leaseholders father Harry Serruys who I believe came to Norwich on a boat from Holland or Denmark or similar and developed the Oasis club in Thorpe which housed Harry’s bar. Closed a few years back but I miss it from my Thorpe days.

Holland if memory serves me (but who knows these days!) Harry also had a "gin palace" which I think he kept in Horning. He wanted some big batteries for it which we supplied, and then wanted to play cards for a discount on the price at the Lodge in Salhouse. Happy and distant days!

My understanding is that Pedro's in Horning ceased trading and someone else has now taken over the site and going to run it as a cafe. These Pedros establishments appear to be franchises and not directly linked to one another.

Pedros Chapelfield was the original and best, if you didn’t come away on fire from the inside out then you needed to go back for another course! Even the waft of the sombreros would not cool things off. Great meals.
