Be prepared to put your hands in your pockets if you moor at the cafe/pub!

The Broads Authority now have extensive free 24 hour moorings at The Berney Quay which extend from the Berney Windmill downriver for several hundred yards.

If you use the BA moorings they are free. If you moor at the cafe, someone will come and take cash from you. Last year I believe it was £10 whatever time of day you moored.

Why would anyone pay to moor at the café? the Windmill + BA stretch is rarely full

People who don’t know about the charge and/or the free moorings. Some see a space outside a place they intend to visit and just have to moor there.
